
What do you think of Politics? Do you pay attention to what politicians do and say?
Many of us who choose to work with technology avoid politics or assume politics is harder or simpler than computing. We like solving problems, problems that have solutions, solutions that can be tested. Politics seems to be the antithesis of technology. Politics can seem ambiguous and used with deviant purpose or it can seem simple and make us wonder why they can't just fix it.
Believe me, I understand, I'm a techie by nature; I've been working with computers since the mid 1970's when we used Arpanet to coordinate our research in semantic networks. Simultaneously I've been married to a political science professor. Over dinner or on our long walks, Ken helped me understand and work through political situations at work and in the world.
In this blog space, I will try to provide some system type analysis of current events and some examples of political systems that you may not have thought of as political. My focus is on politics in the community and in the workplace.
